Maybe you could do the Jesse Reno thing and make some things fade in the background and only leave the things you like
that's a cool idea. it is a little confusing. i am not sure what it's supposed to mean. like what's the message? obviously something contrasting the black with the pink and the lips... but unclear.
I think it's too busy, i like kathryn's idea of blocking out and stuff like that, i think it would at least help you simplify.
I 2nd (or is it 3rd?) the motion to Jesse Reno-ify the painting!
